Did Far Cry 5's ending make sense within context ofthe whole game and its story ?

When it comes to video games, there are always those that feel that the ending is never really a part of the story. With Far Cry 5, Ubisoft Montreal took this to heart and decided not to have an ending at all. This created some controversy as many felt that it ruined what could have been a great game.

In terms of story, Far Cry 5 takes place after the events of Far Cry 4 and sees you playing as Ajay Ghale, who has now become the leader of a resistance movement against the tyrannical regime in Kyrat. The game starts with you liberating a radio station from your enemies and soon enough you find yourself embroiled in a civil war between two factions vying for control over Kyrat.

The ending was meant to be ambiguous as Ubisoft wanted players to make their own interpretation based on how they played through the game. While some may feel that it was poorly executed, others may appreciate its lack of closure which allows them to create their own version of events should they choose to do so. Ultimately, whether or not the ending makes sense within context is up for debate but overall it does not detract from what is an enjoyable gaming experience.
