The age of innocence movie review focuses on twelve year old Irish girl named Mary who moves to New York City during World War II to live with her Protestant aunt and uncle after her parents are killed in a bombing raid over Dublin. While living there she befriends Jewish girl Linda Blair (Alicia Vikander), Catholic girl Karen McCluskey (Emma Roberts), African American Nancy Thompson (Emma Stone), Polish immigrant Patty Hewitt (Keira Knightley) and Irish immigrant Dana Darrow (Julie Walters). They all try to survive during wartime while hiding their true identities from Nazi spies that are looking for any Jews or Catholics they can find so they can send them off to concentration camps like Hitler wants them to do.

One of the things I liked about this movie was how it showed different perspectives from different groups of people during wartime which made it more realistic since not everyone was happy about what was happening around them either good or bad like when Linda starts wearing a Star of David necklace because she's afraid Nazis will kill her if they find out she's Jewish even though most people think she looks pretty with it on instead of being scared like some other characters were which made me really appreciate how well written this movie was overall especially since it wasn't just one perspective throughout the entire thing like some movies tend to be where you only see one side or another without any middle ground whatsoever which I thought added an extra layer of depth that helped make this story feel more real to me even though at times it might have been difficult for viewers unfamiliar with historical events surrounding World War II to follow along due to all the names being thrown around without much explanation at first glance unlike say Harry Potter where everything is spelled out for you so you don't have too much trouble keeping up ^_^;; .
